Traffic experiment that amazes

We are so “used” to being controlled by traffic rules, that we don’t even question this institutions. Check out this cool experiment. What happens to a congested town when traffic lights are removed?  Humanwire Correspondent Martin Cassini reports on this experiment performed in Somerset County, England. See the 4 minute Video

It turns out they significantly relieved the city of traffic! Hear the testimonials in the video explain more. Their slogan is to make roads fit for people. It turns out the drivers actually stopped more for children wanting to cross the road and drivers were more relaxed.

Makes you wonder what other “rules” we should be questioning.

On bills: Astrid Lindgren to Greta Garbo

The Swedish federal bank wanted to design the new bill series so people could associate with the bills. I must say, they succeeded! History is important, but who wants to see old presidents are their bills? It is almost like saying, money was their most important duty, so they will forever be the holy bill symbols.

Yippee...

Re-design every 10 years

Many countries do re-design their bills every decade. Other countries have had the same design for over 100 years, like the USA. Here are the people on the new Swedish bills:

They are starting a national movement. 80% of American want to the Citizens United amendment to be overturned. Citizens United is amendment that gives corporations the green light to spend millions of dollars on the elections.

So far money spent:

• Federal interest group have pouring over 11 billion dollars into elections since 2000.
• The three biggest donors (with their spouses) have spent 35 million dollars 2012 on the election.

To launch TNT TV channel in Belgium they placed a big red push button on an average Flemish square of an average Flemish town. A sign with the text “Push to add drama” invited people to use the button. And then they waited…

Another oldie but goodie from McDonalds. Try this tongue twister out. I can’t believe after over 30 years I still remember every word- That is branding!

Everyone went around chanting this over and over. They had people all over the USA doing free marketing for them.

Simple and catchy jingle

For 30 years I have not thought or heard this TV commercial. The delicious Almond Joy and Mound’s candy bar’s jingle suddenly popped into my head. I remembered every word and every tone.
