About

About me, I am an American that has been living in Sweden for over 20 years. My background is growing up in the United States in a family of four (one girl and one boy), 2 cars, watching Sesame Street and Captain Kangeroo, eating bologna sandwiches for lunch, capitalism, a basketball pole in the driveway, (which I backed into with my Dad’s car when I was 16 and it was never the same), a public education and four years at a university studying interior architecture. Now, I am living and believing in a pretty well working social welfare system in a country where the word communism isn’t a bad word…

I live in Sweden’s second largest city, Gothenburg. I believe there are about 500 000 people living in or around the city. I moved here from New York City and it was quite a system shock from 9 million in a metropolis of culture and individuality to a half million, where everyone seemed more… like each other. I was used to checking out what to do in the NY Times every weekend and there was always a ton of cultural, adventurous, interesting things to do. From Indian dance festivals at Pier 17, to art galleries in SOHO or restaurant hopping on the Upper East Side. It took me awhile to adjust. Now I think there are a lot of things to do here. I just don’t do the same things. I enjoy the forest, cross country skiing, running, biking, film festivals, cooking and baking, reading, creative writing and doing my art (to name a few).

My blog is quite broad. I am interested in everything concerning how we live with consideration for our planet. The aim with this site is to give information, inspiration and hopefully stimulate good discussions and thoughtful consumer decisions and life style. The common thread that most of the articles have is: environment, our planet, health, and/or safety. The articles with these themes will be about: products we buy, food, lifestyle, travel, heros, inventions and much more. The surprise I have gotten since I’ve started blogging and I keep getting is how much I am learning through this process.

My goal (right now) is to publish one new article (at least) everyday with inspiration or information. I welcome all comments, questions, criticisms, ideas and discussions. You do this best by writing a comment directly after the article or mailing me: caro.s@telia.com

Happy reading, peace, love and live well!
