Welcome to my first art exhibition!
I would be a fool not to use this forum to announce my first art exhibition. After 20 years of working with different forms of art, like ceramics, painting, sewing and glass, now I proudly present my quite unparalleled combination of MDF board, spackle, paint and stainless steel thread creations. The motifs vary from simple everyday thoughts that sprinted through my mind in under 5 seconds to tip toeing on the edge of social or political hot potatoes. If Aboriginies Lived Today is about the soles of sneakers. A Tribute to OCD is for everyone, since everyone has their hang ups and hang downs. What’s your Worth? is about the baby buying industry.
Public Opinion says…
Leaving great room for interpretation, most people who see my pictures the first time say something like,
“Wow, I have never seen anything quite like that.”
That could mean anything from: “Nifty! Love it!” to “What the h— should I say, this is crap.” So, I have realized that I am completely satisified if people seem to stop a sec and are curious and study the pictures. People are asking me what the pictures will cost and what my goal with the exhibition is. I may be killing my credibility with a machete knife by admitting this but my goal is the exhibition in itself. It is utterly terrifying to even contemplate people coming and seeing me there, standing naked. Not really me naked, but pictures I have chosen for people to see and experience are such a major part of me. For me the exhibition is about bravery and just doing it.
Volumes of texts
I have written so much about my art, my metal and about the individual pictures that I think the sheer amount of letters, captions and paragraphs would scare off the most interested readers. My writing compliments my art, helping me to understand what it is really all about. The processes are parallel. Not that one has to have a reason, but sometimes when a picture is done, I start writing about it and all these cool thoughts start forming on the paper, thoughts I hadn’t even consciously thought of before myself. Like the paper and pen are the means for the thoughts to metamorphis into life. Though they should be seen live, since they are 3D, enjoy the pictures! Excuse me for not publishing more pictures, but I really want people to come to the exhibition.
